Food Trip Field Trip at the Trinoma Food Tour for Bloggers!

More than a hundred bloggers of all shapes and sizes flocked at the cinema lobby of Trinoma yesterday afternoon and experienced a one-of-a-kind treat that left us full to the brim and likewise wanting for more. :)

Everyone who came got a baller ID for identification, a colored sticker for grouping purposes and a good bag that contains a gift and press kit from Ayala malls and chocolates from Hersheys. Cocktails were served (funny, they served food and drinks before we went around to eat, hehehe) and the event opened with the usual preliminaries from the people of Trinoma and Yehey!. An AVP was presented which showcased everything one needs to know about Trinoma (btw, Trinoma actually means Triangle North of Metro Manila, something I learned from the AVP :) ).

After that, instructions were given on how everyone will go around and have a taste of the dishes prepared by the 34 participating restaurants. We were then grouped according to color and with our guides, we went to their assigned levels to discover the various tastes and treats Trinoma has to offer. We first ate at Sgt. Pepper Steak where Ms. Catherine Ann Paredes, the Senior Marketing Supervisor and her staff welcomed us with warm smiles and hot food. It was my first time to eat there and enjoyed the food. The beef pepper rice (I think, I forgot the name) and their chicken salad is a must-try. Other places I was able to check out was Marina (the baked oysters are simply irresistible), Mangan (sarap ng bibingka), Mann Hann (loved the chilled tofu), Pho Hoa (the caramelized fish is another must-try), La Maison (loved the ambiance, the fish fillet and the barkada ribs!), Superbowl (the best lemon chicken), Abe (they serve Kapampangan food with a unique presentation, tried their relyenong mais), Haiku (another place with great ambiance and delicious Japanese food), and Holy Cow (desserts to die for!). I took some pics with my camera phone but after seeing my colleague Laszlo's pics of the event, I think you'll much more appreciate seeing his pics so I'll just link to him, hehehe. Below is a sample of Laszlo's pics of the Food Tour and the link to his photoblog. :)

I actually only had soup for lunch to prepare for the event but even that wasn't enough because by the time we were in the last floor (we started from the ground up), I was too full, and to think that was the floor where Bubba Gump and Italianni's was located!

Almost all the restaurants with their managers and crew welcomed us with open arms although it wasn't a perfect scenario. Not all the restos were prepared (some had no idea they part of it while others just started to prepare when the bloggers arrived) while some bloggers received cold treatment from a certain manager (thankfully I decided not to drop by Cabalen). I'm sure after today, she will realize the error of her ways (I just read some posts about it, hehehe).

The good news is that the event is a success! The event allowed us to go around Trinoma and experience how it has strategically placed various dining establishments around the mall to give the people a unique discovery and experience every time they go there. This one-of-a-kind culinary treat for the bloggers just goes to show how powerful word-of-mouth or should I say, click-of-mouth is today. For Trinoma and the participating dining establishments, congratulations for this first. I hope the buzz that you created through this event will be maximized and follow-up immediately. :)
